About John 

I am running as a Democratic candidate for Michigan State Senate, District 38, representing the majority the Upper Peninsula. I am a 5th generation Yooper.

I am 55, and have been married for 27 years with two children. I served in the Army for 25 years, including a combat tour in the Persian Gulf. I worked in Antiterrorism and Homeland Defense at the Pentagon during 9/11 and spent two tours of duty at U.S. Embassies.

My bachelor's degree is in Government and Politics and a Masters in General Administration. I have been a member of the Michigan Education Association and currently employed by Marquette Area Public in Special Education since 2015.
